N orth Star was born on September 26, 2007 to our own Foothill Felines My Storm Ina Teacup, and Gogees Alpha Omega of Foothill Felines.
It's actually quite rare for us to keep back a marble Bengal in our breeding program here at Foothill Felines, simply because most people, when they think of adding a Bengal Cat to their family, are usually picturing a spotted kitten or cat in their minds due to the Asian Leopard Cat ancestors of the Bengal. We made an exception with our lovely North Star (as we did with her granddam, DCH Foothill Felines Manzanita); Star just takes our breath away. She has the wonderful egg shaped skull, small round ears, deep chin and amber brownish gold eye color of the Asian Leopard Cat and she comes from long lines of Bengals which faithfully pass on these traits to their offspring. She has the plushest pelt we've ever seen, and the highly glittered, multi-shading in her expanded marble pattern are a true testament to the incredible work of Gene Ducote of Gogees, and her outstanding male Omega, Star's sire. It was actually an adult altered marble Bengal cat we saw at a cat show that first caught our attention and soon changed our lives forever; the intricacies of the marble pattern in a great Bengal cat are truly astonishing and incredibly gorgeous.
Star had her first litter on September 14, 2008; an amazing litter of SEVEN stunning, healthy kittens!! We could not have asked for a better mother; she delivered all her kittens herself, and immediately her wonderful nurturing instincts took over and all her kittens have grown into super affectionate, loving, social and playful Bengals.
