Automatic Indoor Pet Training Mat

Help your dog or cat learn good house manners - use the ScatMat® automatic indoor pet training mat to keep them off furniture, counters and out of off-limit areas and rooms. Simply place the ScatMat in any area you want your pet to avoid, and switch it on. The ScatMat responds to your pet's touch with a mild, harmless static pulse. Pets soon learn which areas to keep away from. With three intensity levels, ScatMat is suitable for any sized cat or dog.

How and Why it Works

When a dog or cat repeats an unwanted behavior (such as scratching, soiling, or jumping onto furniture), it usually starts in the same location. To help break this habit, simply pace a ScatMat in that spot. After your pet encounters the ScatMat a few times, it will develop an aversion to that location. After a while, you'll be able to leave the ScatMat switched off, and just the sight of it will continue to modify your pet's behavior. Eventually, you'll be able to remove the ScatMat altogether.

The ScatMat^® is effective for several reasons

• the static sensations it generates are sufficiently surprising and unpleasant to your pet to communicate an immediate "leave now" message
• the training is consistent at the same location, 24 hours a day
• your pets associate the unpleasant sensation with the location, not with you, as in other types of discipline
• your pet receives the correction at the exact moment the bad behavior occurs

Specifications

The ScatMat automatic indoor pet training product is constructed of durable, high-quality materials, and has been designed to provide many years of reliable service. It consists of two main components: a flexible vinyl mat containing an embedded electrical grid, and a removable power pack with a three-level intensity selector. (Additional extension or dummy mats are also available to extend the ScatMat's coverage.) The ScatMat is powered by one 9-volt battery (not included), or for high-traffic locations, the optional wall plug adapter (not included).

ScatMat® Powered Training Mats

The ScatMat® fully powered and wired training mat is available in three different sizes. You need at least one fully powered and wired mat; from that, depending upon the locations you wish to keep your pet away from, you can add non-powered (but wired) Extension Mats. Once your pet is used to the way the Scat Mats work, dummy mats (non-powered, non-wired) can also be used. Choose the largest size fully powered and wired mat practical to cover the primary area where the pet stands, sits, or lies before misbehaving.

Another economical way to make the most out of this technology is to add more mats without any embedded wires or a power pack. The result is the ScatMat® Dummy Mat, which looks just like the real thing to you pet. When used in combination with a fully powered ScatMat®, most pets can't tell the difference.
