Cats Today (Many of Which Are Endangered)	Description
The Lion "Panthera leo"	400 - 500 pounds, and 9 to 10 feet in length, excluding the tail. Known as the "King of Beasts", the lion is the only true social cat, and lives in prides. It is tawny yellow to brown in color, and sometimes grey. The females do almost all the hunting.
