"Panthera tigris" | Weighing up to 500 - 600 pounds, and reaching a length of 9 to 10 feet excluding the tail, the tiger is the largest cat in the Felidae family. There are 7 sub-species of tigers: Bali, Bengal, Caspian, Chinese, Javan, Siberian, and Sumatran. Tigers are reddish brown to white in color, with vertical stripes in black, grey or brown. They are excellent swimmers. |
