If your
cat likes to scratch wood or wicker type surfaces, SISAL
ROPE would be a good choice. Sisal rope is more durable and will
last longer than carpet, and is suggested for felines that are
aggressive scratchers! It also aids in maintaining healthy nails.
In addition, many people find that offering their felines a variety
of surfaces on their feline furniture is very helpful in encouraging
a kitty to use their furniture often!
Not all
cats like the feel of the rope. However,
most cats do. If your cat has never tried scratching on rope before,
we suggest that you order a piece of furniture with an upright
post half-sisal and half-carpet. This will give him a chance to
get familiar with the feel of the new texture while still providing
his old familiar carpet . If you are starting out with a kitten,
we DEFINITELY recommend offering him an item with the sisal rope
on it!
There
is a small fee to add
sisal rope to an upright post, and you can add sisal rope to any
of our feline furniture items that have an upright post in the
design. (In our Feline Favorites Furniture line, most of the models already come with one post in sisal, standard, as pictured.) In general, thicker (wider) sisal rope tends to last longer and keep its shape better than thinner sisal.
