The Jaguarundi is a medium-sized wild cat located throughout Mexico, Central and South America; they average about 30 inches in length and weigh around 12-14 pounds. This unusual cat resembles an otter with its short legs and round, short ears. The coat of the jaguarundi is solid colored, and can be blackish to brownish gray or foxy red to chestnut. This cat is closely related to the much larger and heavier Cougar as evidenced by its similar genetic structure and chromosome count.
