The Arabian Leopard is a critically endangered species of leopard, which currently numbers only about 100 individuals at this writing. With the males reaching only 65 pounds, and the females 45 pounds, these leopards are much smaller in size than their other leopard cousins. The Arabian leopard lives in the high mountains of Israel, Saudi Arabia, UAE ,Yemen and the Oman, and preys upon mountain goats, foxes, and other mountain dwelling animals. In this arid climate and habitat, Arabian leopards require large territories in order to find enough food, which means that even at the best of times there have never been many leopards in this area.
