Sunny Spots was born on July 22, 2003, and also came to us from Select Exotics Cattery in Chatsworth, Illinois, but at 14 weeks old!! Once again, Dale and Holly Hummel sent us an exquisite, big and healthy, tremendously well socialized Savannah kitten for our home and our new Savannah Cat breeding program. Sunny Spots has the same gorgeous Bengal sire, "Deno" of Select Exotics, as Sandy Spots does; however, Sunny's dam is Select Exotics "Moshi", a very fertile and large Savannah queen with excellent mothering skills. Moshi's ancestor is also the dashing and oh-so-handsome Keystone, who happens to be a full African Serval.
Above, meet Sunny Spots' ancestors. The top photo is of "Keystone" of Select Exotics; the 100% African male serval owned and loved by Dale and Holly Hummel, and the ancestor of our Sunny Spots and Sandy Spots. Just below Keystone are photos of Sunny's parents - upper left is Deno, her sire, of Select Exotics (an SBT Bengal), and upper right is Moshi, her dam, of Select Exotics. Photos of Keystone, Deno and Moshi are courtesy of Dale Hummel, Select Exotics Cattery.
Above, our first two Savannahs are CAT FANCY stars!! Savannahs are a new and rare domestic cat breed now being developed by some amazing breeders all over the world. Sunny Spots has become an invaluable part of our Foothill Felines Savannah breeding program. When we retire our precious Sunny, she will be staying with us forever.
Can you find our darling Sunny Spots on the CATS USA page with all the gorgeous wild cats?? Sunny has been very busy since she's been with us at Foothill Felines. Besides all her photo shoots and magazine appearances, she's been winning over everyone's heart, and constantly looking for opportunities to play fetch and race around. She also accompanied us on our Hollywood photo shoot in January 2004, and is always a cheerful, fun and super affectionate travelling companion. She and our Sandy Spots are believed to be the first ever Savannah cats pictured in "Cat Fancy" magazine, gracing page 1 and 2 (the table of contents) of the June 2004 issue. All pictures below of Sunny were taken by Cris Kelly.
