FOOTHILL FELINES JUNIOR!!

Junior joined a very special family right near Sacramento; that of Rich Poeschel, his wife Karen, and their daughter Heather. And, oh yes...their 2 adult Bengals Star (an F-6) and Twinkle (an F-4), and older dog Sparky. And...a large pet snake, PLUS an aquarium of lovely fish!! Many of Rich's beautiful photos grace our website, and he was over taking pictures from the first few days of our Marsha/Kimo and Malarki/Metallica litters born 9-30-98, and 10-2-98, respectively. Rich and his family really shared in the growing up and picture taking of these babies with us.

The all-important first few days went like this: "We are so happy with Junior. He slept with us his first night home. He was by my side the whole night. He has taken over the master bedroom for now and has his own cat-tree, litter-box, food and water bowls. He also has many kitty toys thanks to your wonderful Christmas gifts. He is getting along fine but I did see him looking in the mirror with longing eyes. I think he thought it was one of his siblings. He is slowly accepting the other cats and there has been some hissing but I think every thing will be all right. Junior certainly does not know what to think of Sparky the dog! Their friendship may take awhile. The first night we came home we didn't get to sleep until about midnight, because we were worried how he would be, but he knows where his home base is and always comes back to safety. He is just so cute, I don't know what we would do without him! Star and Twinkle are so curious, especially Twinkle but they won't get close to each other yet. We were concerned how Junior would handle himself but he has been just fine. We want to thank you and Wes for giving us our precious little Christmas gift! Oh, we both wish we had all the money in the world to spend because I think we would have liked to take every one of the kittens home with us. Merry Christmas!"

Here is what they had to say about Junior after one week: "Junior has been home for a week now and we love him more than ever. He has the roam of the whole house now and has been explored just about every nook and cranny. He is also starting to warm up to the other animals. This morning all the cats played tag together. They love to zoom around the house going full speed. I spent a wonderful Christmas afternoon napping with Junior. I just can't get over how cute he is!"

Rich wrote us even more recently, "Junior certainly has his wild side too! He was on the kitchen table and wanted to get on the kitchen island, and I was standing in-between. He jumped on to my shoulder and walked from one shoulder to the other and then jumped on the island all in one smooth motion. He gets in the bathroom sink while I am shaving and investigates the shower as soon as I'm out. He gets up on the edge of the bath tub when somebody is using it!"

Junior at 4 months old: "Junior managed to open the kitchen drawer that had the catnip in it. When I got home there was catnip everywhere. All three of the cats were rolling in it!!"
