FOOTHILL FELINES POPEYE &
FOOTHILL FELINES COSMO!!

Popeye and Cosmo went as a pair to live with Sharon R. and Mark Y., in Granite Bay, California. Here are some comments from Sharon, just a few days after bringing her boys home: "Dear Holly and Wes, Mark and I feel pretty lucky right now! Those 2 little kitties are the cutest, sweetest, most playful and sensitive kitties I've ever had. They jumped right in to our home, they were out of the bathroom and checking out the bedroom in under 2 minutes, then off to the living room in under 5! No signs of being afraid, just uncontrollably curious. They use our living room as the aerobics area, I get tired just watching them! We put them in our room with us every night, and after maybe 15 minutes of toe chasing and face sniffing, they settle right down and sleep next to us. They've been up playing every night in the early morning, but they mostly play on the floor with their toys, very rarely using us as a freeway."

"They are as quick as any animal I've ever seen at paying attention to us when they are doing something they know we don't like. Popeye is actually a lot more sensitive to this than Cosmo. I've never seen a cat want to please before, Mark is just floored every time Popeye thinks twice about jumping onto the table or getting behind the TV. All we did was say his name a few times (POPEYE!) and he will now actually back off and run to us before we even say anything! Then he gets lots of love and huggies and runs on his merry way off to tease his brother. I think he is really, really smart and he seems to be concerned with us being unhappy. What a sweetie."

"Cosmo is a little devil! He is so much more rambunctious than Popeye it's hysterical. Our little ringleader is the first one in the sink filled with water to play with toys, the first one over the cardboard and into the kitchen, the first one to jump on a new toy and "kill" it, the first one to the front door to see who is visiting, and the first one up the cat tree to the highest place to announce his presence with very loud meows! He seems so tiny next to Popeye, but he is definitely the boss! Popeye, of course, is right behind him following his lead, not about to be left out of anything, but sometimes he will sit and watch Cosmo until he is comfortable that everything is hunky-dory. I don't think they spend more than 15 minutes a day out of sight of each other, I'm not sure if its because they love each other or because they are afraid of missing out on something!"

"Both of them love to play in our laps while we are watching TV, but Cosmo definitely purrs louder and is more demanding for our attention than Pops. He sometimes is so vocal about whatever is on his mind that you'd think he was being tortured! But no, he's just standing in the middle of the living room or laying on us purring away and will suddenly decide he has something to SAY! He will continue to try to tell us until one of us asks him what is going on. Then he's happy and go finds another toy to destroy!"

"Thank you for raising such great kitties; like you said I would be, I can't imagine our house without them now. Mark thanks me every day for bringing them home, he just loves them. He leaves for work after I do, and I came home during lunch yesterday and found that he had left music on for them, had piled all their toys in the middle of the floor for them to find, and made little "nests" in the bed for them to sleep in. So cute!"

And, a few weeks later, Sharon wrote us: "You absolutely would not believe how HUGE they are getting! Popeye already weighs 8 lbs!!!! The vet (I think she is their AHT) is in love with him, she remembered you and hopes you are doing well. She "boxed" with Popeye for a few minutes, and actually called us the other day to ask how he was. She said that she really loves working with the breed and was glad to see them come in. They were both perfect little angels, sitting all quiet in their box and purring when she held them to give them their shots. That's my boys!!!!! If you ever need references for other prospective Moms and Dads, let us know. Mark and I would be happy to let anyone know how much we love the kitties and how well they fit into our home without any "accidents" with their box, no fleas, no health problems, and lots of support from you and Wes."

The photos below show Popeye, the leopard, (at 5 1/2 months old) and Cosmo, the marble, (at 4 1/2 months old) at home with Sharon and Mark in various poses; looking cute; totally conked out; waiting for the T.V. to be turned on, and finally in complete ecstasy, watching "Video Catnip"!! The last three photos show the boys at about 10 months old. Sharon tells us that her silly boys, the "bed hogs", are obviously "discontent, malnourished, and underappreciated"!! We don't buy it one bit!! Popeye loves to hog the remote control so that he can watch his favorite program - Country Music TV!! Cosmo, ever on the lookout for mischief, likes to toss cat food all over the floor as a favorite game. Their water dish is now inside a large plastic bin to keep the water they splash out from flooding Sharon and Mark's kitchen!!
