FOOTHILL FELINES SPYDER!!

Rebecca L. from Oakland, California, had had a kitten deposit in with us for some time and was hoping for a very special, high quality spotted Bengal kitten to add to her family. Just when we had what we thought was the right kitten for her - she became ill and was not able to come visit our cattery and make her final decision on the kitten. Unbeknownst to her, her husband Chris decided to take care of this detail for her, and surprise her with the kitten in time for Christmas. So, he secretly made the trip to Sacramento, fell in love with the kitten, and took him home to put under the Christmas tree for his recovering wife. What fun!!

Rebecca sent us these photos and this wonderful message shortly after the holidays!! "Wow!! What a surprise!! I could not believe it!! He is adorable!! Very loud, but just gorgeous!! I never expected to share Christmas with him!!! We named him "Spyder", like the Porsche, the one James Dean crashed in. Kind of a fitting name, too!! He flies around the house out of control!! And crashes into anything in his way!! We are having so much fun with him!"

She continued: "The first night he explored, but we always knew where he was ... he's a big talker. Probably calling his brothers and sisters! He found the Christmas tree first off -- as you can see in the pics. But by the third night we thought something might be wrong .... He cried constantly and went around scratching everywhere. So I'd show him the box each time. He didn't want any part of it -- just hissed and ran out. Well Chris went to pick him up and he sprayed urine all over him! So we cleaned everything up and brought out a litter box into the living room. He jumped in it .... took care of business and has been fine ever since!! Poor guy must have been holding it the whole time. Funny thing is, Chris said he used it right when he got home, first off. So who knows .... I'm just glad he's a happy camper now!!"

"Actually, he's very sleepy right now -- he was neutered this morning. He and our little snow Bengal (Tia) went in. They are best buds!! It took 3 days, but Tia worked him over!! He was very defensive -- but she kept at him. And now they are inseparable! They eat together, terrorize the house together, and sleep together! Too cute!! Well I'm probably forgetting lots of other details .... so I'll have to keep you posted!! Here are some pics in the mean time! He is even friends with our Shih Tzu!!"
